Britain’s most expensive streets have been revealed by real estate portal Zoopla. A total of 14,417 streets now boast an average house price of at least £1 million. The 2017 figure sees an increase of almost 2,000 streets with the million pound price tag in the last 12 months. Unsurprising, the majority of million-pound streets can be found in London with Kensington Palace Gardens taking the top spot with the average price of a home setting buyers back more than £35 million.
The top ten most expensive streets all have a London postcode but the country is seeing an increase in millionaire rows outside the capital as well.
Following hot on the footsteps of London is the Home Counties, benefiting from proximity to the capital as well as greater space and greener environments. Topping the wealthiest road outside the capital is Golf Club Road in Weybridge Surrey, with an average house price just shy of £6 million. Not far behind is Hertfordshire’s Temple Gardens in Rickmansworth where the average house price is over £4 million.
Representing the North of the country is Broadway, Altrincham in Greater Manchester which commands an average price tag of £2.8 million, followed by Whitebarn Road, Alderly Edge in Cheshire with homes fetching £2.7 million on average. The Midlands also make it into the richest street list with Lovelace Avenue, Solihull commanding a cool £2.1 million.
