These are Manchester’s Top Three spots for renters

Finding the perfect rental home in Greater Manchester is becoming more and more difficult as interest from potential renters keeps increasing. Here are our top three areas to look for rental property.

We’ve had a closer look at some of the city’s most popular areas, and with a little help from Zoopla, put together a list of the three best areas to start hunting for your new rental home.

So, whether you’re searching to rent or to invest in rental accommodation, bookmark these three areas to make sure you get the best deal.

Didsbury

Probably not a massive surprise, as Didsbury is one of those areas that has been popular with renters and buyers alike for a while now. The area wins due to its variety in bars, restaurants and cafes, beautiful houses and brilliant location.

Nevertheless, renting a home in trend Didsbury will still set you back less than opting for a city centre apartment. Plus, the options are usually more varied and competition possibly less stiff.

Didsbury offers great value for money, with the average one bed apartment setting you back £700 a month, a two bedroom home will bump you up to £900 every month.

Didsbury itself consists of Didsbury village and West Didsbury and caters for two slightly different crowds. Whilst West Didsbury is the perfect place for young professionals who have only just finished uni and are now looking to move somewhere slightly upmarket, Didsbury village is home to any young couple and families.

Public transport is another part of daily life that Didsbury is nailing. East and West Didsbury both have their own tram stop, connecting the area vie the Metrolink with the city centre as well as Manchester Airport.

Manchester City Centre

How could anyone write a list of Manchester’s best places to live and not put the city centre on it?

Manchester City Centre is attractive to many renters for plenty of reasons. Whilst you probably will end up paying more for your home, you might also be getting more out of it.

An average one bedroom flat in the city centre will cost you £900 in rent every month, a two bedroom apartment will cost you around £1,050 every month.

Whether you’re looking to rent in the city’s Castlefield, Potato Wharf, Northern Quarter or Spinningfields, you’ll always be spoiled with choice for bars, restaurants, cafes and other shops.

Manchester City Centre is currently experiencing some great momentum, with new developments getting planning permission across the area.

And when it comes to getting around in the city, you can again choose from a variety of options. Hop on and off the Metrolink throughout the city, catch one of the city centre’s free shuttle buses or, you know, find your way around by walking everywhere.

Stockport’s Heaton Moor

This one may seem a little bit more surprising. However, finding a rental place in Stockport’s suburb Heaton Moor comes with a couple of benefits.

You’ll probably be able to find somewhere to live a fair bit cheaper than in Didsbury, but you won’t be too far away from all the good stuff. Heaton Moor itself has more recently started to develop its own subculture, with some great independent bars, restaurants and shops.

On average, a two bedroom house will cost you £757 a month, three bedrooms will bring the price up to £879.

Whilst Heaton Moor is slowly becoming more popular with renters, demand isn’t as high as it is in Didsbury and the city centre just yet. This means you might be able to find yourself a real steal.

When it comes to transport into the city, you can choose between a couple of options. The closest train station is Heaton Chapel, which will get you straight into the city, you can catch the tram after a short walk to Didsbury or catch one of the many buses.
