Chorley is a place you may have not heard of yet, but you will pretty soon. It’s a town at the cusp of change.
The town has already got a vibrant centre, being one of the few towns in the UK to have increasing footfall – and with plans approved for £17 million to be invested into the town centre, this is set to surge.
Some of those big plans include a new cinema, high street retailers and restaurants. Town councillors have dubbed the changes as the most dramatic ever seen in the town. And the town’s council is one of the country’s most active and forward-thinking administrative bodies with bringing campaigns like Choose Chorley for Business” to life.
Chorley’s transport is also benefiting from investment. Its railway network is part of the Northern Programmes which will enable faster, more frequent trains through the area from December 2017 and has very deep pockets with investments of more than £1 billion.
Manchester is pretty much on the town’s doorstep, currently only being a 35-minute train ride away. This makes Chorley a great commuting location for those who like the quiet of a small city but want to work in the North’s big smoke.
