Take a look inside the most expensive homes sold last year in Greater Manchester.
Last year a total of 75 homes in Greater Manchester sold for more than £1m whilst nine sold for over £2m. Three fabulous homes even sold for more than £3m.
High-end homes located in Hale and Bowdon sold extremely well.
At the same time experts explained that the demand for properties at the lower end of the market increased as well.
Trafford boasted every single home in the top 10 across the region, with the most expensive property even going for an impressive £3.5m.
The home, located on Charcoal Road in Bowdon, was closely followed by another on Rossmill Lane in hale Barns, for £3.4m.
In the area od £1m-plus homes, out of 75 properties 52 were located in Trafford, mainly in leafy areas like Bowdon, Hale and Hale Barns.
In both, Stockport and Bolton, six home sold for more than £1m, Manchester registered four sales with a similar price tag, and Bury and Salford two each.
Peter Higham, director of Gascoigne Halman, explained that the market for houses between £1m and £2m was booming and that sales happen relatively quickly – usually within six months or less.
Homes with an even higher price usually take longer to shift, Higham added, because of the typically discerning clients checking out properties in the higher bracket.
Peter added: “People buying homes worth more than £2m, tend to have a lot of choice, so those sales take a little longer.”
“But under £2m sell a lot quicker – that market looks likely to pick up even more this year.”
“We’re likely to see the boom continue in 2016. The market is very good. There is a shortage of homes, which doesn’t help.”
“There’s a risk the market could stagnate. But all the same, the market will pick up going into spring.”
“A person selling a £600,000 – £700,000 property asking ‘should I move upward?’ has now got more confidence in the market.”
