Edition Birmingham is bringing 581 new homes to the centre of the city, one of multiple new developments primed to benefit from the anticipated uplift of Birmingham.
The city of Birmingham is drumming up huge levels of interest from investors at the moment thanks to its penned transport upgrades, with the likes of Edition Birmingham among many others set to offer a premium lifestyle in one of the UK’s most rapidly improving locations.
With Curzon Street in the centre of Birmingham now earmarked to be the terminus for the UK’s upcoming high-speed rail (HS2) line, there’s been a flurry of interest from investors looking for opportunities in the city centre ahead of the expected property market boost.
This month, a £2.5bn transport investment was also announced by the government, which is set to further enhance the city’s prospects by streamlining travel for residents. With this, regeneration across the city is set to ramp up, adding to Birmingham’s appeal as an investment market.
Birmingham is already a key target for buy-to-let property investors seeking locations with high tenant demand, with the city being renowned for its particularly young population. Business interest in Birmingham is high, as companies continue to locate themselves in the city to take advantage of the high level of young professionals living there.
Taking note of this boost in interest, developers have zeroed in on some of the areas that could be set to benefit the most from the city’s facelift, including locations close to the new Curzon Street station, and places that already offer rich amenities on their doorstep.
Luxury living in Edition Birmingham
Edition Birmingham is set to be a major addition to the city centre in terms of residential space, bringing 581 new homes across 23,000 square feet of space.
The development will be set across two buildings – Park Residence, due to complete in Q2 2027, and Centenary Tower, due to complete in two phases of Q1 2028 and Q3 2028.
Edition Birmingham’s vision is to deliver a premium residential offering with luxury amenities to attract residents looking to settle down in one of the city’s most sought-after locations.
It is situated off Centenary Square, which is the cultural heart of the city where residents will be moments from the iconic Library of Birmingham, the Symphony Hall home to the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and the city’s Museum and Art Gallery.
The development is also adjacent to the £1.2bn Paradise scheme, a brand-new development offering 120,000sq ft of retail and leisure space as well as top-tier offices, three public squares and a four-star hotel.
Edition Birmingham’s selling point, according to Select Property, the strategic partner alongside Court Collaboration, is being the only residential development in the city to boast a swimming pool, ensuring Edition Birmingham “provides a lifestyle of unmatched luxury and wellness in the heart of Birmingham’s city centre”.
The latest update on the scheme was the appointment of contractor Midgard last month, which secured a £145m contract to lead the project’s development. It is expected that spades will go in the ground in the coming months of 2025.
