In 2018,\u00a0<\/b>investment in the north-west of England reached\u00a0<\/b>\u00a33.17bn<\/b>, which is the highest level since 2007<\/b>.<\/b><\/p>\n

Lambert Smith Hampton, a commercial real estate consultancy,\u00a0recently\u00a0released\u00a0the latest\u00a0UK Investment Transactions report.\u00a0The data\u00a0revealed\u00a0that\u00a0every region of the UK saw above average investment\u00a0volume\u00a0in 2018, showing the\u00a0resilience<\/a>\u00a0of the property sector\u00a0through\u00a0economic and political uncertainty<\/a>.
\nThe n<\/b>orth-west<\/b>\u00a0<\/b>continues to be an<\/b>\u00a0investment hotspot<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ending\u00a02018 on a high, the\u00a0north-west<\/a>\u00a0recorded\u00a0\u00a31bn of property investment deals in the final quarter. This was the second-best regional performance in\u00a0the UK\u00a0with the north-west only being beat out by the south-east.\u00a0As the\u00a0West and East Midlands\u00a0came in at third and fourth,\u00a0investors<\/a>\u00a0are predicted to set sights on\u00a0not only the north in 2019 but the Midlands as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ben Roberts,\u00a0director of capital markets\u00a0for\u00a0Lambert Smith Hampton\u00a0in the north-west,\u00a0stated: \u201c2018\u2019s performance shows that despite ongoing political and economic uncertainty, the\u00a0north-west\u00a0is still a very attractive market. In the final quarter of last year, overseas investors were hot on the heels of UK institutions, investing a total \u00a3323m compared with the institutions at \u00a3453m.\u201d<\/p>\n

Overseas<\/b>\u00a0investors\u00a0<\/b>seek<\/b>\u00a0investments<\/b>\u00a0in\u00a0<\/b>the north-west<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Overseas\u00a0investment\u00a0in the UK\u00a0reached\u00a0\u00a38.1bn\u00a0for the final quarter of 2018, which\u00a0was 16% above the five-year quarterly average.\u00a0During 2018, investment from overseas reached\u00a0\u00a327.9bn, sitting\u00a033%\u00a0higher than\u00a0the 10-year\u00a0annual\u00a0average.\u00a0As usual, the highest volume came from the Far East with\u00a0\u00a34.8bn\u00a0in Q4.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Manchester<\/a>\u00a0and the north-west\u00a0of England has seen a surge in\u00a0investment from Asia and the Far East<\/a>\u00a0due to direct flights to and from China and India.\u00a0Further\u00a0UK\u00a0property investment, especially in the north,\u00a0is expected to\u00a0continue\u00a0coming\u00a0from Far Eastern\u00a0and other Asian\u00a0investors.<\/p>\n

Annual\u00a0investment\u00a0in the UK\u00a0from North America has\u00a0dropped to its lowest number in six years. However,\u00a0Liverpool has\u00a0recently\u00a0seen a\u00a0rise\u00a0in\u00a0interest from\u00a0US investors<\/a>.\u00a0With house prices rising but still affordable, Liverpool is\u00a0viewed\u00a0as an\u00a0attractive\u00a0investment opportunity.<\/p>\n

Liverpool and Manchester\u00a0have\u00a0seen\u00a0extensive\u00a0growth\u00a0in the property sector, and both cities are\u00a0expected\u00a0to continue to be hotspots\u00a0for\u00a0British and overseas\u00a0investors\u00a0looking for high-yielding\u00a0buy-to-lets<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
