The latest set of house price figures, this time from the Office for National Statistics, has revealed a 5.2% annual rise in the country’s average house prices.<\/strong><\/p>\n The average home in the UK now costs \u00a3227,000 according to the most recent Land Registry data, compiled by the ONS, from December 2017, putting properties \u00a312,000 higher than the same period in 2016, and \u00a31,000 – or 0.4% – higher than November.<\/p>\n Looking solely at England, the average home is now worth \u00a3244,000, which is a 5% annual increase. Meanwhile, Scotland<\/a> saw the value of its properties shoot up by 7.7% over the year to reach \u00a3149,000, the strongest growth seen across the UK.<\/p>\n
