The rise in tax revenue shows the noticeable effect the three per cent increase of stamp duty really had.<\/p>\n<p>Now, estate agents are speaking up to warn the Government not to expect these increases in tax to stick around in the long-run. Particularly when considering the uncertain times ahead of the country, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/04\/10\/small-construction-firms-shake-off-brexit-concerns-confidence\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Brexit<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/04\/25\/theresa-mays-general-election-will-impact-investor\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">snap General Election<\/a> only being two of them, investment levels may not always remain so high.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Not unless they\u2019re being supported or safeguarded in some way.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Stephen Ludlow, chairman at Ludlow Thompson, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The record high take shows just how dependent the government is becoming on stamp duty land tax.
