This leaves many <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/04\/04\/uk-homeownership-falls-lowest-rate-since-1985\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">homeowner-hopefuls frustrated<\/a> and far, far away from ever owning their home.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"kUgZylZWxG\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/03\/31\/brexit-big-change-little-impact-countrys-property-market\/\">Brexit: A big change with little impact on the country\u2019s property market<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Brexit: A big change with little impact on the country\u2019s property market&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/03\/31\/brexit-big-change-little-impact-countrys-property-market\/embed\/#?secret=wlXooVpck6#?secret=kUgZylZWxG\" data-secret=\"kUgZylZWxG\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Nationwide also stated that the slump in home ownership had been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/02\/07\/generation-rent-government-may-ready-help\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">particularly noticeable in younger nesters<\/a>, using this as an explanation why so many people currently renting privately are aged 34 years or younger.<\/p>\n<p>But it doesn\u2019t stop here. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/09\/22\/rising-age-generation-rent\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">One decade up<\/a>, those aged 35-44, has seen ownership rates decline by almost 20% (from 74% to 56%) between 2006 and now. This additional bracket has been putting even more pressure on the rental market, especially the private sector.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 20% of homes in England are now rented privately. A new record. Ten years ago, Nationwide revealed, this number was at 12%. Brexit won\u2019t change the fundamentals, it won\u2019t change the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/03\/14\/build-rent-deliver-240000-new-homes-2030\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">basic gap between the country\u2019s housing demand and its supply<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And whilst in the short-term some may experience some hiccups, the long-term forecast remains the same: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/12\/06\/london-home-almost-one-fifth-uks-generation-rent\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Generation Rent<\/a> is only here to grow. In age as well as size.
