Independent research on the other hand suggests that the country as a whole is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/10\/10\/uk-close-critical-property-shortage-rics-warns\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">in need of 300,000 new homes<\/a> to keep up with the demand.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The number of new affordable homes in England dropped by half over the last 12 months, new figures have revealed.
