The long-term plan\u00a0aims\u00a0to increase\u00a0prosperity\u00a0in a variety of neighbourhoods\u00a0within\u00a0the city-region.<\/h3>\n

In the\u00a0Local Industrial Strategy<\/a>, Greater\u00a0Manchester\u2019s leadership\u00a0and the Government\u00a0has set\u00a0out an integrated place-based approach with a goal of bringing forward strategic regeneration schemes in town centres and\u00a0key\u00a0sites.\u00a0Additionally, the plan looks to\u00a0incorporate\u00a0investment in housing,\u00a0transport, land remediation, and other infrastructure with a goal to create more sustainable employment locations.<\/p>\n

Town centres across\u00a0Greater Manchester<\/a>\u00a0are\u00a0strong\u00a0hubs for housing, employment, and transport.\u00a0The city-region\u00a0is home to\u00a0numerous neighbourhoods that\u00a0have room for\u00a0further development and investment, such as the creative area around the Quays, the research hub along the Oxford Road Corridor, and industrial hubs in Bolton, Rochdale, Wigan, and Trafford Park.<\/p>\n

Bolton\u2019s strategic regeneration scheme<\/h3>\n

Bolton<\/a>\u00a0is an important part of the Greater Manchester economy, boasting an output worth \u00a34.6bn.\u00a0As one of the largest towns in Europe, Bolton offers a range of regeneration opportunities and a growing population.\u00a0With a\u00a0\u00a31bn regeneration scheme<\/a>\u00a0in the works, Bolton is expected to be transformed with\u00a0thousands\u00a0of\u00a0new homes and job opportunities.<\/p>\n

The scheme for Bolton will be an important\u00a0part\u00a0of\u00a0regeneration in Greater Manchester.\u00a0The Local Industrial Strategy aims to cultivate prosperous towns and communities\u00a0across the city-region. Eight of the main town centres in Greater Manchester will be supported to put a stronger focus on local economic activity.<\/p>\n

Greater Manchester\u2019s infrastructure<\/h3>\n

The city-region is setting goals to upgrade, integrate, and future-proof its infrastructure. One of the important areas\u00a0being\u00a0focused\u00a0on is\u00a0further\u00a0improving access to national and global markets.\u00a0The development of Port Salford will\u00a0link\u00a0Greater Manchester\u00a0to new international trading routes. Improvements to rail and road networks will create\u00a0quicker\u00a0connections\u00a0to the rest of\u00a0the nation.<\/p>\n

As the global gateway to the north of England, Manchester Airport serves over 200 destinations.\u00a0Direct flights to and from Asia and the Far East have already boosted interest in Manchester\u2019s property market by\u00a0overseas investors<\/a>. Additional connections to the rest of the world is likely to increase\u00a0global interest in Greater\u00a0Manchester<\/a>\u00a0and its property market, in addition to making it easier for tourists, investors, and\u00a0students to reach the city.<\/p>\n

Greater Manchester\u2019s Local Industrial Strategy involves\u00a0ambitious\u00a0plans to deliver a\u00a0future-proof\u00a0economy<\/a>\u00a0with a range of prosperous communities, sustainable long-term investment, and upgraded infrastructure. The plan is likely to create further demand for housing in Manchester and make it an even more\u00a0liveable city<\/a>.<\/p>\n
