Manchester\u00a0is\u00a0outperforming\u00a0other regional centres in the UK\u00a0with\u00a0new job creation\u00a0and office take-up.<\/h3>\n

JLL released figures\u00a0about Manchester\u2019s thriving economy and property market\u00a0at the annual\u00a0north-west property market update<\/a>.\u00a0The professional services firm specializing in real estate revealed\u00a0that\u00a0Manchester<\/a>\u00a0has remained the\u00a0top\u00a0regional city with the most office take-up since JLL began recording the data over 15 years ago.<\/p>\n

As the UK\u2019s tech capital outside of London, Manchester\u2019s\u00a0tech sector<\/a>\u00a0is\u00a0the leading driver of\u00a0demand for office space.\u00a0Last year,\u00a0office space<\/a>\u00a0take-up\u00a0totalled more than\u00a01.75\u00a0million\u00a0sq\u00a0ft.\u00a0With a\u00a054% increase on the 10-year average, this is the best year on record.<\/p>\n

Elaine Rossall, UK head of offices research at JLL, stated: \u201cWhen thinking of the UK\u2019s strongest property markets, Manchester continues to be in a league of its own. Job creation is at record levels and is spread across a range of sectors. Commercial development is increasingly catering to occupier demand and this is translating into positive, continued growth across the other\u00a0property markets<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe current strength is also against a backdrop of the UK economy performing better than expected in the run up to\u00a0Brexit<\/a>, with Manchester really bucking expectations.\u201d<\/p>\n

Diverse opportunities in Manchester<\/h3>\n

With a diversified\u00a0and\u00a0fast growing\u00a0economy<\/a>, Manchester boasts a wide range of job opportunities and has seen the largest wage growth since 2008.\u00a0Manchester is even forecast to gain an additional 10,000 office workers by 2021 than it did in 2018.<\/p>\n

This growth\u00a0in jobs, workers, and wages\u00a0is\u00a0positively\u00a0impacting\u00a0the\u00a0office, industrial, and residential property markets<\/a>.\u00a0There are a variety of new and expanding business districts\u00a0in\u00a0this city in the Northern Powerhouse\u00a0that\u00a0will\u00a0continue to play\u00a0a big part in supplying the high demand\u00a0for office space.<\/p>\n

David Lathwood, lead director in the\u00a0north-west\u00a0for JLL, said: \u201cEach year we look at the UK\u2019s big six regional centres, it\u2019s clear that Manchester isn\u2019t just already outperforming other cities but that the opportunities in front of it are rich and diverse.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year, it\u2019s also clear that Brexit uncertainty hasn\u2019t had the same impact on occupier sentiment than it has in other areas of the country.
