Leeds City Council\u00a0<\/span><\/b>has put up the old Leeds International Pool site for sale and are looking for developers interested in building mixed-use schemes, including retail, leisure, commercial, and hotel options.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Currently used as\u00a0<\/span>two\u00a0<\/span>car park<\/span>s<\/span>, the\u00a0<\/span>former<\/span>\u00a0Leeds International Pool site<\/span>, located on Lisbon Street,<\/span>\u00a0is 1.2 hectares and boasts a\u00a0<\/span>central<\/span>\u00a0location<\/span>\u00a0in the heart of\u00a0<\/span>the city\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0business district.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>The pool was built in the 1960s but closed in 2017 and was then demolished in 2009.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Martin Farrington, Leeds City Council\u2019s director of city development, said: \u201cThis Lisbon Street site occupies a prime position among many of the city\u2019s top financial, legal and professional services employers within our core business district, which makes it a very desirable space and development opportunity.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>To meet the growing demand for Grade A office space in the city centre, we are pleased to announce our proposal to invite formal competitive bids for the site.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/span>old Leeds International Pool site\u00a0<\/span>was previously supposed to be turned into a 24-storey apartment block, however, the plans were abandoned in 2010. Now,\u00a0<\/span>Leeds City Council<\/span><\/a>\u00a0wants to sell the site to a developer interested in building high-rise Grade A office space.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Development in Leeds<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

With increasing demand, Leeds has room for\u00a0<\/span>20,000 more homes<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in the city centre and further development.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>As many parts of the city are seeing regeneration, further development is underway.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
