Buyer\u2019s Market<\/strong><br \/>\nA term often used when the number of properties on the market outstrips demand, gives buyers leverage to negotiate and keep prices down.<\/p>\n<p><strong>C. Capital Gain<\/strong><br \/>\nThe profit made from the sale of a property.<\/p>\n<p><strong>D. Deposit<\/strong><br \/>\nThe sum payable to secure a property, the balance is payable later.<\/p>\n<p><strong>E. Guaranteed Rental Period<\/strong><br \/>\nA period of 12 months or more that a property developer will guarantee your rental payments regardless of void periods or non-payments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>H. Haggling<\/strong><br \/>\nNegotiating the price of a property. Buy-to-Let investors often have the same advantage as first time buyers when negotiating discounts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I. Interest only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/06\/02\/british-mortgage-lending-reaches-lowest-rates-ever\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Mortgage<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nA mortgage in which the borrower only pays interest on the mortgage. The term is usually around 5 \u2013 7 years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>J. Joint Ownership<\/strong><br \/>\nTerm used when more than one person owns a property. There are lots of different ways to jointly purchase including joint tenants and tenants in common.<\/p>\n<p><strong>K. Key Return<\/strong><br \/>\nAn investor\u2019s main investment and return goal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>L. Land Registry<\/strong><br \/>\nGovernment department that records the owners of land and under what conditions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>M. Mortgage Redemption Figure<\/strong><br \/>\nThe figure required to repay the outstanding capital and interest of a mortgage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>N. Net Return<\/strong><br \/>\nIncome from your investment once all expenses from the gross income are deducted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>O. Offer Accepted<\/strong><br \/>\nThe term used when a vendor accepts an offer made on a property. Key in the formation of a legally binding contract.<\/p>\n<p><strong>P. Property Portfolio<\/strong><br \/>\nA collection of property investments owned by an individual, group or company.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q. Title Deeds<\/strong><br \/>\nLegal documents that record ownership of a property.<\/p>\n<p><strong>U. Under Offer<\/strong><br \/>\nThe term used when a sale is agreed or sold subject to contract but contracts haven\u2019t been exchanged.<\/p>\n<p><strong>V. Vendor<\/strong><br \/>\nLegal name to describe the seller of a property.<\/p>\n<p><strong>W. Withdrawal<\/strong><br \/>\nTerm used when buyer withdraws offer. Usually occurs before searches have taken place to limit money lost.<\/p>\n<p><strong>X. Xtra Buying Costs<\/strong><br \/>\n(Yes, we know we are cheating!) Extra buying costs are those outside of the expected. These can come from solicitor and mortgage providers, such as higher lending fees, arrangement fees and valuation fees.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Y. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/04\/18\/britains-young-professionals-pay-extra-70000-better-location\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Young Professionals<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nOften target market for buy to let investors. Young professionals are perceived to be more likely to rent, have more expendable income and be more reliable than tenants out of work.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Z.
