{"id":2908,"date":"2017-06-16T12:30:15","date_gmt":"2017-06-16T11:30:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.buyassociation.co.uk\/?p=2908"},"modified":"2017-06-16T12:30:15","modified_gmt":"2017-06-16T11:30:15","slug":"china-property-slows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/06\/16\/china-property-slows\/","title":{"rendered":"China property slows"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Growth in the Chinese property market slowed last month as recently introduced government restrictions began to take effect.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/05\/19\/chinese-property-price-growth-slows\/\" target>The slowdown<\/a> was the first drop that has been reported for three months and has been directly attributed to the cooling measures brought in during recent months.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"SMew5IB5P2\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/03\/08\/chinese-buyers-invest-new-zealand\/\">Chinese buyers invest in New Zealand<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Chinese buyers invest in New Zealand&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/03\/08\/chinese-buyers-invest-new-zealand\/embed\/#?secret=VfTO3p01dp#?secret=SMew5IB5P2\" data-secret=\"SMew5IB5P2\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>According to Reuters, the growth rate of new construction starts measured by floor area almost halved on a yearly basis from 10.1% in April to 5.2% in May.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/04\/20\/chinese-investment-stays-strong\/\" target>Chinese investors<\/a> are increasingly looking inland since they have been restricted from buying in the main cities, therefore driving up prices in more remote, smaller cities with fewer buying restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s been very obvious in the past two months that the buying demand has spilled over to the third- and fourth-tier cities,&#8221; commented Joe Zhou, head of research for China at real-estate agent Jones Lang Lasalle (JLL). <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;[But] this kind of spill-over demand is at its peak, and probably will only last for one or two quarters.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In May, Chinese authorities implemented new rules that required developers to publish accurate price information for new homes on sale.
