Over half of those surveyed explained that they chose to have their vacation at home this year as going abroad is too expensive and Britain offers better value for money.<\/p>\n<p>And additional 36% also stated that they decided to holiday at home this year because they wanted to support the country\u2019s economy rather than spending their hard earned coin somewhere else.<\/p>\n<p>Shakila Ahmed, Travelodge\u2019s spokeswoman, explained the results:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cOur research shows that 2017 is set to be another strong year for the staycation, which is great news for our economy.
