About 21% said were either <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/02\/14\/almost-half-uk-tenants-unhappy-landlord\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">fairly unhappy or extremely unhappy<\/a>, which compared to only 8% of homeowners. This shows that tenants are more than twice as likely to be dissatisfied with the way their currently living.<\/p>\n<p>Nick Marr, TheHouseShop\u2019s co-founder, explained that considering the numerous reports on rogue landlords and organisations like Shelter and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/05\/04\/take-generation-rent-59-years-make-onto-property-ladder\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Generation Rent<\/a> endlessly campaigning for better standards, the results may not come as a surprise to many.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor homeowners, the commitment to a property is much more permanent than it is for renters, and buyers will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/06\/06\/quickly-can-sell-home-uk\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">spend a lot of time and effort choosing their ideal property<\/a> and carrying out improvement works over the years to perfect it,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cTenants, on the other hand, are rarely allowed to make even superficial changes or improvements to their homes, so it is highly unlikely that they will ever achieve the same level of happiness as home owners.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"NrslG5N70k\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/05\/15\/general-election-2017-can-theresa-may-actually-generation-rent\/\">General Election 2017: What can Theresa May actually do for Generation Rent?<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;General Election 2017: What can Theresa May actually do for Generation Rent?&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/05\/15\/general-election-2017-can-theresa-may-actually-generation-rent\/embed\/#?secret=xZgqed7ke6#?secret=NrslG5N70k\" data-secret=\"NrslG5N70k\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the study also noticed a clear divide between older and younger generations. Those aged 55 and over were by far the happiest with their homes with 85% and they were also twice as likely to be very happy when compared to younger participants.<\/p>\n<p>Those <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/04\/05\/continuing-rise-generation-rent-best-friend-private-rented-sector\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">aged 25 to 34 were the least likely to be happy<\/a> with how they\u2019re currently living, with only 16% saying they were.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Whilst the majority of homeowners in the UK are happy with their home, tenants are less pleased with their current living situation, a new research has revealed.
