{"id":2850,"date":"2017-06-05T07:00:24","date_gmt":"2017-06-05T06:00:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.buyassociation.co.uk\/?p=2850"},"modified":"2023-09-29T11:29:35","modified_gmt":"2023-09-29T10:29:35","slug":"edinburgh-searched-city-britains-house-hunters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/06\/05\/edinburgh-searched-city-britains-house-hunters\/","title":{"rendered":"Edinburgh most searched for city among Britain\u2019s house hunters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Edinburgh is the most popular location searched for by property hunters across the UK with 145% more enquiries than anywhere else over the last 12 months.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Property portal Zoopla put together that study and revealed that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/11\/29\/what-you-need-to-know-about-the-london-housing-market-south-london\/\">south London<\/a>\u2019s Croydon came in second with 104% more interest.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"bQ8pvXwbnV\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/01\/31\/meet-property-hotspots-2017-manchester-birmingham-edinburgh\/\">Meet your property hotspots for 2017: Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Meet your property hotspots for 2017: Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/01\/31\/meet-property-hotspots-2017-manchester-birmingham-edinburgh\/embed\/#?secret=3IbxvXAWN0#?secret=bQ8pvXwbnV\" data-secret=\"bQ8pvXwbnV\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The results are based on an analysis of email enquiries that were sent to estate agents highlighting specific interest.<\/p>\n<p>London came in third with 77% more enquiries than average, followed by Glasgow with 67%, Leicester with 56% and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2018\/04\/05\/why-birmingham-top-property-investment-hotspot-right-now\/\">Birmingham <\/a>with 55%.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the research also had a closer look at the most popular search terms. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/11\/20\/fastest-place-to-sell-property-in-uk-not-london\/\">Buyers in Edinburgh<\/a> and Croydon were keen on homes with a garage while those looking in London had a particular interest in \u201cfreehold\u201d property.<\/p>\n<p>Across searches for Scotland, a coastal view seemed important considering the most popular keyword was \u201csea\u201d. In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2018\/03\/28\/just-days-left-before-land-transaction-tax-replaces-stamp-duty-wales\/\">Wales<\/a>, a lot of outdoor space seems to be what people are looking for with the word \u201cacres\u201d being the most searched keyword.<\/p>\n<p>When only looking at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2018\/04\/18\/london-commercial-property-investment-stagnates\/\">London<\/a>, the most sought after borough was Barking and Dagenham as homes here received 168% more interest than London\u2019s average property listing. The area is followed by Bexley and Hounslow with 43% and 40% more interest respectively.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis new set of figures gives us valuable insight into which areas of the British property market are most in demand. It\u2019s interesting to see Edinburgh outranking London, which perhaps reflects a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2018\/01\/30\/then-and-now-investors-learn-london-housing-market\/\">cooling in the property market<\/a> for central London,&#8221; said Lawrence Hall of Zoopla.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt\u2019s no surprise that we see high demand for properties in the outer London suburbs, such as Croydon, as they prove to be an affordable alternative for buyers.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Edinburgh is the most popular location searched for by property hunters across the UK with 145% more enquiries than anywhere else over the last 12 months.
