The capital\u2019s homeowners who have a mortgage with a 90% loan to value ratio are expected to pay \u00a33,000 per month whilst average rents come in at \u00a31,861.<\/p>\n<p>Cambridge made it into second place with a monthly mortgage repayment of \u00a31,488 and monthly rents averaging out at \u00a31,099.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/02\/01\/buy-let-chinese-new-year-200m-investment-liverpool\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Liverpool<\/a>, Bedford, Reading and Brighton also made it into the top 10.<\/p>\n<p>Glasgow represented the other end of the spectrum with rental cost averaging at \u00a3649 whilst monthly mortgage repayments are only $475, and therefore 31% less.<\/p>\n<p>Zoopla\u2019s spokesperson, Lawrence Hill, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThese figures are encouraging for those who are currently renting and perhaps looking to save as much as they possibly can to get on the property ladder.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Times are looking quite rosy for those who already own a home, according to the latest house price sentiment index by Knight Frank and IHS Markit.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"xAlaMQxz30\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/05\/18\/5-surprising-factors-impact-house-prices\/\">5 Surprising Factors that Impact House Prices<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;5 Surprising Factors that Impact House Prices&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/05\/18\/5-surprising-factors-impact-house-prices\/embed\/#?secret=a6pJuIp24s#?secret=xAlaMQxz30\" data-secret=\"xAlaMQxz30\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The index revealed that over 17% of the 1,500 households surveyed said that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/05\/17\/hotel-mum-dad-rising-house-prices-make-generation-rent-stay-home-longer\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">value of their home had increased<\/a> over the last month. In comparison, only 6.5% said the price of their home had dropped.<\/p>\n<p>Oliver Knight, an associate in Knight Frank\u2019s residential research team, explained:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The recent softening in sentiment in the immediate run up to the General Election in June may be a reaction to the slight uncertainty that inevitably comes with the vote, combined with wider inflationary pressures as well as affordability concerns in parts of the country.
