[Infographic]&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/04\/06\/invest-hmo-property-infographic\/embed\/#?secret=1zRvKabRU1#?secret=L89Bc5tihe\" data-secret=\"L89Bc5tihe\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The report also pointed out that those studying in London and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/02\/16\/property-investment-england-focus-south-east\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">England\u2019s South East<\/a> have to dig especially deep in order to afford their rent.<\/p>\n<p>The students themselves, however, seem to be less concerned with their bills than they are with the speed of the internet in their new home.<\/p>\n<p>University Crib\u2019s research found that 83% of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/10\/21\/3-things-renters-do-to-save\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">student renters<\/a> are actively looking for a fast connection when hunting for a home. Other major considerations before renting a place include a double bed, which was ranked very important by 56% of students.<\/p>\n<p>And whilst students seem to be happy to spend their money on rental accommodation, some investor are slowly shifting their view on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/12\/05\/top-place-invest-student-housing-robust-returns\/\">student property investment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Student property once was extremely attractive to many property investors. The turnover is so quick, that a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/11\/18\/good-tenant-bad-tenant-infographic\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">lot of the tenants<\/a> don\u2019t take great care of the place &#8211; especially when considering that for many of them, this is the first time living out of home. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/12\/15\/trust-time-low-less-third-landlords-will-rent-students\/\">Student property<\/a> ages quickly and therefore drops in value.<\/p>\n<p>With a whole generation of renters &#8211; who bring a safe income, want to stay in the same place, and are looking for an actual home &#8211; on the lookout for great rental accommodation, some investors might find it worthwhile to shift their focus away from student property and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/04\/20\/build-rent-developers-investors-make-three-year-tenancies-norm\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">give build-to-rent a go<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Whilst two years ago only one third of student renters had to pay \u00a3100 or more a week in order to secure their living space, the number has now jumped up dramatically.
