They made up 80% of transaction volume, an increase of 6% from 74% at the end of last year.<\/p>\n<p>CBRE revealed that a total of 13 deals were worth \u00a3100 million or more during Q1 of 2017, an increase from 11 transaction in the previous quarter.<\/p>\n<p>Nine out of thirteen (just under 70%) of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2018\/01\/05\/commercial-property-still-big-business-investors\/\">mega-deals<\/a> were purchases by overseas investors.<\/p>\n<p>Stephen Pearson, head of city investment at CBRE, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The momentum we experienced at the end of last year has shown no sign of abating in the early months of 2017 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/03\/20\/owns-london-probably-not-think\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">London remains a central focus for international capital requirements<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>These numbers, however, sit in drastic contrast to figures published a couple of weeks ago stating the amount of foreign companies looking for commercial property in the UK has dropped by 40%.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"F9FlGihgJP\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/03\/28\/germany-now-europes-active-commercial-property-market\/\">Germany is now Europe\u2019s most active commercial property market<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Germany is now Europe\u2019s most active commercial property market&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/03\/28\/germany-now-europes-active-commercial-property-market\/embed\/#?secret=Xa5s0RHQR0#?secret=F9FlGihgJP\" data-secret=\"F9FlGihgJP\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Commercial real estate portal Property.Works stated that foreign firms accounted for 11.3% of all its searches in the early months of 2016, the number had dropped to 6.7% towards the second half of 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst experiencing a drop straight after the referendum vote they also saw <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/03\/31\/brexit-big-change-little-impact-countrys-property-market\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">an increase to similar levels like pre-referendum times<\/a> a couple of weeks later with their most-searched cities being London, followed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/01\/13\/manchester-birmingham-leeds-named-best-buy-let\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The capital\u2019s commercial real estate sector managed to attract record levels of investment in Q1 of 2017 as foreign investor shrug off any Brexit fears, CBRE figures reveal.
