Transport infrastructure must not be planned in isolation, but in conjunction <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/03\/23\/bad-manchesters-housing-crisis-really\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">with housing projects<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"aQf5tMoi9H\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/04\/03\/northern-powerhouse-wins-backing-major-global-organisations\/\">Northern Powerhouse wins the backing of major global organisations<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Northern Powerhouse wins the backing of major global organisations&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/04\/03\/northern-powerhouse-wins-backing-major-global-organisations\/embed\/#?secret=DDWOqj2yh0#?secret=aQf5tMoi9H\" data-secret=\"aQf5tMoi9H\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Richard Green, director at global infrastructure services firm AECOM, believes plans for improving existing housing stock, strengthening communities and building new homes will need to be considered now if long-term balanced UK economic growth is to be achieved.<\/p>\n<p>By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/11\/15\/meet-four-projects-manchester-wants-see-chinese-investment-going\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">creating sustainable, desirable and well-connected communities<\/a>, areas that are more likely to attain the levels of investment and infrastructure improvement will be able to both attract and retain the best talent, further bolstering the local economy.<\/p>\n<p>Green explained that with planning already underway for major new transport schemes across the north, local and regional authorities are under pressure to \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/12\/06\/manchesters-revival-leading-norths-property-explosion\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">develop long-term strategic growth plans<\/a> that open the potential for housing along route corridors\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The increase in passengers onto the infrastructure, combined with the inevitable social and economic benefits provide a clear, unbalanced argument in favour of aligning housing with transport infrastructure.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"r6EewJnqr3\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/10\/26\/trains-trams-motorways-greater-manchesters-greatest-expansion\/\">Trains, trams, motorways: Greater Manchester\u2019s greatest expansion<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Trains, trams, motorways: Greater Manchester\u2019s greatest expansion&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/10\/26\/trains-trams-motorways-greater-manchesters-greatest-expansion\/embed\/#?secret=U4GSPaxWIq#?secret=r6EewJnqr3\" data-secret=\"r6EewJnqr3\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Stating that housing is vital to economic growth and must become a Northern Powerhouse priority, Green expressed that \u201cit must not be overlooked in decision making around the allocation of funds associated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/10\/18\/northern-powerhouse-creating-property-investment-hotspots\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">with the Northern Powerhouse<\/a>. A rebalance of the economy can only be achieved if city and regional authorities in the north successfully create well-connected communities close to transport links.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>The Northern Powerhouse is home to over 15 million people and one million businesses. It comprises some of the world\u2019s highest ranking universities and seven international airports.
