This represents the highest level since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/03\/31\/brexit-big-change-little-impact-countrys-property-market\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">before the EU referendum<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And businesses are planning to get their investment right. Over the next four months, firms plan to put \u00a310,000 of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/11\/27\/will-more-housing-equal-more-jobs-construction-sector\/\">investment<\/a> into staff training, recruitment and machinery.<\/p>\n<p>Almost 75% of construction companies are planning to invest over the next couple of months to come, in comparison 59% is the national average for companies investing in the near future, the BFS revealed.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"knyC6WRii0\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/02\/03\/uk-construction-sector-rosy-picture-2017-rics\/\">UK Construction Sector: Rosy picture for 2017 from RICS<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;UK Construction Sector: Rosy picture for 2017 from RICS&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/02\/03\/uk-construction-sector-rosy-picture-2017-rics\/embed\/#?secret=HoUVmqCXX8#?secret=knyC6WRii0\" data-secret=\"knyC6WRii0\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Helen Wheeler, managing director of construction finance at BFS, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe are now seeing a step-change in attitudes amongst smaller construction businesses, with more firms looking to invest and grow. Work volumes are also rising, which is a positive indicator, particularly in light of wider economic uncertainty surrounding the UK\u2019s separation from the EU.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s encouraging to see construction businesses investing in people and machinery as such activity has a positive multiplier effect on supply chains throughout the entire country.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>When it comes to the challenges smaller construction companies are facing, the main issue named was finding and keeping good, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/12\/06\/brexit-could-derail-hammonds-ambitious-housebuilding-targets\/\">high-quality staff<\/a> and winning new customers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Confidence is on the rise among small construction firms as 75% of subcontractors plan to invest in their business in the next three months to come.
