The average increase in property prices in Australia is currently 12.9% a year.<\/p>\n<p>According to the firm, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/03\/03\/melbourne-sydney-see-property-price-growth\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">house prices in Sydney<\/a> rose by an impressive 19.65% in 2016, while apartment prices increased by 15.27%.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"P7gytBF3QD\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/02\/08\/australia-demands-property-sales\/\">Australia demands property sales<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Australia demands property sales&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/02\/08\/australia-demands-property-sales\/embed\/#?secret=4dAZKaiHCQ#?secret=P7gytBF3QD\" data-secret=\"P7gytBF3QD\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>CoreLogic also reported rises in Melbourne (17.15%), Canberra (13.64%) and Hobart (11.05%) \u2013 however both Perth and Darwin saw property prices drop between four and five per cent.<\/p>\n<p>The new data shows that the gap between house and apartment prices is widening even further, with house prices in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/01\/26\/australian-property-market-feel-effects-chinese-restrictions\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Australia\u2019s five major cities<\/a> increasing 13.35% during the past 12 months, compared to 9.83% for Australian apartments.<\/p>\n<p>However <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/07\/21\/sydney-attracts-foreign-investment\/\">Sydney once again continued to buck the trend<\/a>, with the growth between the two housing types proving less here than in any other Australian city.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New figures released by CoreLogic have revealed that property prices in Sydney have risen by nearly 20% in the past year.
