This forms part of a larger pot of almost 90 businesses, universities and other organisations that pledge their support to the scheme.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"louuZrRnU5\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/10\/18\/northern-powerhouse-creating-property-investment-hotspots\/\">How the Northern Powerhouse is creating property investment hotspots<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;How the Northern Powerhouse is creating property investment hotspots&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/10\/18\/northern-powerhouse-creating-property-investment-hotspots\/embed\/#?secret=neZ7EDczA9#?secret=louuZrRnU5\" data-secret=\"louuZrRnU5\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Name dropping some of the other major players and household names, Northern Powerhouse Minister Andrew Percy commented that \u201cfrom Siemens to Vodafone, the investment being made by major businesses is further proof that the Northern Powerhouse economy is firing on all cylinders&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The comment seems to be an almost direct response to Theresa May\u2019s earlier statement in which she stated: \u201cI don\u2019t want to see our country dependent on one city any more. I want to get <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/01\/31\/meet-property-hotspots-2017-manchester-birmingham-edinburgh\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">all of our great cities<\/a> firing on all cylinders to rebalance our economy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That said, May\u2019s backing of the scheme has been questioned since her arrival at Downing Street. Ex-Chancellor, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/10\/01\/former-chancellor-osborne-chair-northern-powerhouse-partnership\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">George Osborne once accused May<\/a> for having a bit of a \u201cwobble\u201d over the scheme. However, she appears to be in full backing of the initiative, promising to &#8220;help the great cities and towns of the North pool their strengths and take on the world&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Percy believes that having the backing of almost 90 different organisations is vital to \u201csecuring the economic future of the north for years to come\u201d, whilst Commercial Secretary Baroness Neville-Rolfe claims her commitment to \u201csecuring the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/10\/26\/trains-trams-motorways-greater-manchesters-greatest-expansion\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">infrastructure, investment and support the north needs<\/a> to become a global economic heavyweight at the very heart of the UK economy&#8221;.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"i3V6Uh57ow\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/03\/27\/manchester-squeezes-past-london-strongest-annual-house-price-growth\/\">Manchester squeezes past London with strongest annual house price growth<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Manchester squeezes past London with strongest annual house price growth&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/03\/27\/manchester-squeezes-past-london-strongest-annual-house-price-growth\/embed\/#?secret=Ym86xEs1yt#?secret=i3V6Uh57ow\" data-secret=\"i3V6Uh57ow\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>John Whittaker, chairman of the Peel Group has invested \u00a35 billion across the North with his partners, and sees a \u201cnew impetus on promoting international trade and investment with local, national and international partners\u201d after Brexit.<\/p>\n<p>This adds further allure to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/02\/28\/brexits-weakening-pound-foreign-property-investors-dream\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">overseas property investors<\/a> who, according to a recent CBRE report, see the Powerhouse as a strong international brand that \u201coffers a safe, globally recognised investment\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Further confidence in the Northern Powerhouse has been expressed, with backing from the prime minister and a number of major international organisations.
