The last of its kind, here\u2019s what UK property investors can expect.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Chancellor Philip <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/11\/23\/philip-hammonds-autumn-statement-expect\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Hammond announced earlier<\/a> that the Spring Budget 2017 will be the last of its kind and that after this, all major announcement will move into one budget: the Autumn Statement.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"CmGgN6LP0d\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/01\/24\/will-brexit-turn-britain-investment-safe-haven\/\">Will Brexit turn Britain into an investment safe haven?<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Will Brexit turn Britain into an investment safe haven?&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/01\/24\/will-brexit-turn-britain-investment-safe-haven\/embed\/#?secret=trFIYk7GUG#?secret=CmGgN6LP0d\" data-secret=\"CmGgN6LP0d\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>And whilst there\u2019s a lot happening at the moment in the UK\u2019s political circus with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/02\/28\/brexits-weakening-pound-foreign-property-investors-dream\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Brexit negotiations<\/a> about to start, the Chancellor\u2019s statement is expected to carry only very few surprises for Britain\u2019s property investors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stamp duty<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/11\/22\/brits-housing-theresa-may-bye-bye-stamp-duty-infographic\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Changes to stamp duty<\/a> have been a major point of discussion since 2014, and new rules came into force in April last year.<\/p>\n<p>The new rule, an increase of 3 percentage points, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/03\/03\/far-prices-london-fall\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">has hit London\u2019s prime market<\/a> the hardest. However, as house prices continue their rise, even first-time buyers are now way more likely to pay the extra charge on anything costing more than \u00a3125,000.<\/p>\n<p><strong>According to Halifax, the number of those paying has hit its highest rate in 10 years.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So far, the Treasury hasn\u2019t hinted in any way at any changes regarding the current regulations.
