{"id":21719,"date":"2018-10-24T09:51:45","date_gmt":"2018-10-24T08:51:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.buyassociation.co.uk\/?p=21719"},"modified":"2023-10-10T11:04:27","modified_gmt":"2023-10-10T10:04:27","slug":"liverpool-waters-new-cruise-liner-terminal-revealed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/news\/liverpool-waters-new-cruise-liner-terminal-revealed\/","title":{"rendered":"Liverpool Waters new cruise liner terminal revealed [Video]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Liverpool City Council has revealed the most detailed designs yet for the city\u2019s new cruise liner terminal <\/strong><strong>within Peel Land &amp; Property\u2019s \u00a35bn \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2018\/09\/04\/liverpool-waters-is-set-to-change-the-citys-waterside\/\">Liverpool Waters<\/a>\u2019 scheme.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The reveal of the RIBA Stage 4 designs for the terminal, which will be constructed at the Princes Jetty Site along Princes Parade\u00a0at Princes Dock in Liverpool Waters, follows recent pre-planning consultation with residents and businesses in relation to the new 200-room hotel which would be opposite the terminal.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4FGoC3miPMw\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The proposed terminal development would comprise the dismantling of the redundant and derelict jetty and construction of the new terminal on a new jetty in the River Mersey. The scheme will also include new public open space, hard and soft landscaping and associated servicing arrangements.<\/p>\n<section class=\"av_textblock_section\">\n<div class=\"avia_textblock \">\n<blockquote><p>\u201c<em>The new cruise liner terminal is a key element in plans to further boost our flourishing visitor economy, which is now worth more than \u00a34.5bn a year to the city region\u2019s economy and provides more than 53,000 jobs.<\/em>\u00a0<em>Attracting more visitors, in bigger ships, will give a boost not just to businesses in the city centre, but around the city region, indirectly creating additional jobs for local people across the supply chain.<\/em>\u00a0<em>This video brings the plans to life and helps demonstrate how much closer this project is to becoming a reality.<\/em>\u201c &#8211; <strong>Steve Rotheram, Metro Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, said:<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<p>An outline planning permission was granted for the scheme in April and the city council has applied through Mersey Docks and Harbour Company\u00a0for a Harbour Revision Order for the construction of the Jetty in the River Mersey.<\/p>\n<p>This year Liverpool welcomed more than 60 vessels, with 100,000 passengers and crew, and the city council wants to capitalise further on the cruise boom by creating a state of the art facility to cater for Liverpool\u2019s growing appeal in the cruise industry. The current terminal generates more than \u00a37m a year to the city\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n<p>The new cruise liner terminal, equivalent to the size of two football pitches, would be serviced by an off-site multi-storey car park and will enable the world\u2019s largest cruise ships (up to 3,600 passengers) to embark and disembark at Liverpool and is expected to directly create more than 500 new jobs.<\/p>\n<section class=\"av_textblock_section\">\n<div class=\"avia_textblock \">\n<blockquote><p>\u201c<em>The construction of this new terminal will mark a new chapter in the city\u2019s maritime future as we create a world class experience for the cruise companies and their passengers.
