Greater Grimsby has secured a major investment valued at \u00a367m to drive forward exciting regeneration plans for the area<\/strong><\/p>\n

The groundbreaking investment,\u00a0under a Stage 1 Town Deal,\u00a0will see around 10,000 new homes<\/a> built by 2032 and more than 8,800 new job opportunities<\/a> created in the area.<\/p>\n

On 5\u00a0July at Grimsby\u2019s Marine Operating Centre, The Greater Grimsby Project Board, led by David Ross and the North East Lincolnshire Council, gathered together local MPs, Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) and leaders from both the private and public sector.<\/p>\n

The major investment announced by business minister Lord Henley and Jake Berry MP, local growth minister, will lead Greater Grimsby closer to the shared vision the board holds for the future.<\/p>\n

The move reflects the government\u2019s commitment to promoting local partnerships and forging strong links with local communities<\/a> to deliver transport improvements, enhance infrastructure<\/a> and attract more local investment into areas to boost construction and job opportunities \u2013 350 of which will be at Grimsby\u2019s Royal Dock, where local employer \u00d8rsted is constructing the biggest UK operations base for offshore wind.<\/p>\n

Matthew Wright, managing director for \u00d8rsted UK, said: \u201cGrimsby is fast becoming a world-leading hub for renewable energy and this Town Deal can only help the area continue to grow. I\u2019m delighted to see this partnership signed as it will help unlock further investment<\/a>, drive regeneration and deliver jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n
