In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/voices\/donald-trump-to-win-us-presidential-election-postbrexit-britain-what-it-means-for-us-a7391786.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">what-if scenario describing the relationship<\/a> between Trump\u2019s America and post-Brexit Britain the possible outcomes received mixed reviews.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whilst Trump has built his whole campaign on the basics of \u201cAmerica First\u201d combined with a hostile attitude towards free trade deals, he will, nevertheless, need trade partners.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What we do know is that Trump regards the North American Free Trade Agreement as the \u201cworst deal ever\u201d, opening up space for new deals to be made.<\/p>\n<p>How exactly Trump would influence the British market is tricky to call. Broadly speaking, America\u2019s new president is a fan of Britain. He shared his enthusiasm about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/06\/28\/the-referendum-breakdown\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">the referendum results<\/a> stating it\u2019s \u201ca great victory\u201d, aims to build the finest golf course in the world in Scotland and took Nigel Farage on his campaign tour.<\/p>\n<p>Although British politicians might feel differently about the new President-elect, with both the old and the new Prime Minister describing Trump as \u201cwrong\u201d, Theresa May recently published a statement congratulating him on the win.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"ZHFDRnTzbE\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/10\/30\/greedy-sellers-keep-property-market-extra-month-especially-london\/\">Greedy sellers keep property on the market for an extra month, especially in London<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Greedy sellers keep property on the market for an extra month, especially in London&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/10\/30\/greedy-sellers-keep-property-market-extra-month-especially-london\/embed\/#?secret=1zXKkUSRLc#?secret=ZHFDRnTzbE\" data-secret=\"ZHFDRnTzbE\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Since, at this stage, we know so little about possible effects Trump\u2019s election may have on the UK, City A.M asked some of the biggest investors about their reaction to the recent results.<\/p>\n<p><strong>All seven of them stated a similar point of view: knee jerk reactions won\u2019t get us anywhere.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On top of that, investors seem to have taken some comfort from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=-smetnW-k28\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donald Trump\u2019s victory speech<\/a>, giving the situation another positive momentum.<\/p>\n<p>So whilst it currently remains rather difficult to see what influence Donald Trump\u2019s election may have on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/08\/12\/strong-property-market-top-3-indicators\/\">Britain\u2019s property market<\/a>, Laith Khalaf of financial services group Hargreaves Lansdown, probably summed up the situation the best by describing the stock market\u2019s reaction to Trump\u2019s election:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Initial stock market reaction to the Trump victory was a short intake of breath, followed by a shrug.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>BuyAssociation&#8217;s opinion section is a place for thought-provoking views and debate.
