{"id":1322,"date":"2016-10-07T09:58:07","date_gmt":"2016-10-07T08:58:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.buyassociation.co.uk\/?p=1322"},"modified":"2016-10-07T09:58:07","modified_gmt":"2016-10-07T08:58:07","slug":"manchester-growth-outstrips-central-london","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/10\/07\/manchester-growth-outstrips-central-london\/","title":{"rendered":"Manchester growth outstrips central London"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The release of new figures on the economic growth of major UK cities has shown that Manchester is now one of the top three of fastest growing city economies in the UK, and is predicted to create up to 27,500 new jobs by 2026, reports Bdaily.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Irwin Mitchell\u2019s latest UK Powerhouse report, Manchester recorded a faster output increase during the second quarter of 2016 than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/10\/07\/london-hits-top-spot-opportunity\/\">Inner London<\/a>, climbing to third place in the rankings with a 2.5 per cent year-on-year increase in output.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The report has attributed much of Manchester\u2019s success to growth in sectors such as business services and valued the city\u2019s economy at \u00a316bn, up from \u00a315.8bn in Q1. What is perhaps more significant however is the lack of progress is tackling the divide between London and the North. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/10\/01\/former-chancellor-osborne-chair-northern-powerhouse-partnership\/\">The Northern Powerhouse<\/a> initiative has now had the backing of Theresa May and it is vital that the Government refocuses its efforts in this area and ensures economic prosperity is shared fairly.\u201c<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The forecast future growth of the city\u2019s economy is great news for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/08\/16\/top-10-property-investment-manchester\/\">investors in Manchester<\/a>, though the report does suggest that London (16.3 per cent), Milton Keynes and Cambridge (both 22 per cent) will grow at faster rates in the next decade.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The release of new figures on the economic growth of major UK cities has shown that Manchester is now one of the top three of fastest growing city economies in the UK, and is predicted to create up to 27,500 new jobs by 2026, reports Bdaily.
