\u00a0<\/span>\u2018<\/span><\/b>Open Doors week<\/span><\/b>\u2019<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/b>is an\u00a0<\/span><\/b>initiative giving access to live sites\u00a0<\/span><\/b>set up by Build UK and the CITB.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Now a popular annual event \u2013 this year\u2019s began on the 18<\/span>th<\/span>\u00a0March and is running until the 24<\/span>th<\/span>\u00a0March 2019.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Already the 2019 event\u00a0<\/span>has already achieved a record number of bookings\u00a0<\/span>with\u00a0<\/span>more than 5,200 site bookings across over 275 construction sites in England, Wales and Scotl<\/span>and.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The aim behind organising this event was to encourage people to take a look at behind the scenes of a construction site from residential developments to schools and office sites.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>The initiative has been part of a much needed education and awareness programme to promote the diverse range of skills and professions required on a construction site.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With Brexit uncertainty around European workers, the construction industry is on a positive recruitment drive to inspire people to consider a career in construction which is expanding across the UK.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Developers from all over the country are opening their doors to the public to see\u00a0<\/span>firsthand<\/span>\u00a0what work is involved in creating a residential developments from north to south.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/span>Slate Yard residential development in Salford\u00a0<\/span>has been developed by English Cities Fund, which is a joint venture set up by three partners \u2013 Homes England, Legal & General and Muse Developments.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Plot A7 of Phase 3 at Slate Yard on the border of Manchester city centre<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>is showcasing the development that comprises 199 flats over 20 upper floors with a main entrance area, residents\u2019 lounge,\u00a0<\/span>gym<\/span>\u00a0and cycle storage all at ground level.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This weekend it will be demonstrating various activities to visitors booked on the tour, including:\u00a0 the e<\/span>rection of the concrete frame<\/span>, e<\/span>xternal facade works<\/span>\u00a0and i<\/span>nternal first fix partitions<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
