This bans the controversial practice of dual agency, which is more commonly also known as double dipping.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"2E938FWkMZ\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/02\/03\/uk-construction-sector-rosy-picture-2017-rics\/\">UK Construction Sector: Rosy picture for 2017 from RICS<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;UK Construction Sector: Rosy picture for 2017 from RICS&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/02\/03\/uk-construction-sector-rosy-picture-2017-rics\/embed\/#?secret=CufclWRyay#?secret=2E938FWkMZ\" data-secret=\"2E938FWkMZ\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>These new standards kick in from January 1 2018 and clearly state that the practice of dual agency must not be used under any circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>The statement continues:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cFor the avoidance of doubt, RICS members working within non-RICS regulated firms are subject to the same criteria as regulated firms when undertaking dual agency in the UK under any circumstances.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This statement also covers a practice called multiple agency, where an estate agent is involved in competing contractual relationships at the same time with more than one buyer.
