{"id":2329,"date":"2017-02-14T12:00:59","date_gmt":"2017-02-14T12:00:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.buyassociation.co.uk\/?p=2329"},"modified":"2017-02-14T12:00:59","modified_gmt":"2017-02-14T12:00:59","slug":"average-house-england-wales-now-300000","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-au\/news\/average-house-england-wales-now-300000\/","title":{"rendered":"An average house in England and Wales is now more than \u00a3300,000"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>For the first time ever, the average house price across England and Wales has surpassed the \u00a3300,000 mark, the latest house price index by Your Move has revealed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the index, house prices grew 3.1% year-on-year across England and Wales in January, bumping them up to an average of \u00a3300,169.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, this also indicates <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/01\/09\/uk-house-prices-rise-slowly-2017\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">a slowdown in house price growth<\/a> as double the growth (7.3%) was recorded one year prior, in January 2016.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/12\/19\/londons-house-price-growth-lowest-rate-three-years\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">When it comes to the capital<\/a>, house prices went up 1.3% and averaged out at \u00a3598,001. This increase was largely due to a growth in prices in the more affordable parts of London.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"VU5FpLGYOb\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/02\/08\/january-house-price-index-record-low-supply-presents-opportunity-buy-let-investor\/\">January house price index: record low supply presents opportunity for buy-to-let investor<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;January house price index: record low supply presents opportunity for buy-to-let investor&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/02\/08\/january-house-price-index-record-low-supply-presents-opportunity-buy-let-investor\/embed\/#?secret=Cj75mXLdYA#?secret=VU5FpLGYOb\" data-secret=\"VU5FpLGYOb\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Barking and Dagenham, historically significantly cheaper than the rest of the big city, has seen a rise in house prices of 13.6% over the last twelve months with a current average price of \u00a3301,572.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The online estate agent also said that it hadn\u2019t recorded a growth in house prices for the last nine months in the capital.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Of all regions analysed, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/01\/26\/property-investment-england-focus-east-england\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">England\u2019s East<\/a> showed the biggest growth, with the average price going up by 7.1% over the one year period.<\/p>\n<p>Oliver Blake, managing direct at estate agents Your Move and Reeds Rains, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s been a confident start to the year from the housing market.
