Prime sales fall.&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/02\/02\/london-drop-started-prime-sales-fall\/embed\/#?secret=P4gFIwsYdm#?secret=yb2T0AOyAe\" data-secret=\"yb2T0AOyAe\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The report had a closer look at house price data from the Land Registry over the past 20 years and used its findings to calculate the potential increases in the 20 years to come.<\/p>\n<p>For the last 10 years, since 1996, the primary driver for house price growth has always been a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/10\/10\/uk-close-critical-property-shortage-rics-warns\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">shortage of affordable housing<\/a>. In England, house prices have seen an incredible increase of 320% between 1997 and today, from \u00a356,000 to \u00a3234,000.<\/p>\n<p>Property experts voiced their opinion by stating that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/11\/21\/number-affordable-homes-uk-continues-majestic-fall\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">lack of affordable housing<\/a>, combined with an ever-growing population, will continue to be the central issue in the country\u2019s housing market for at least another ten years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This research highlights the near impossible task faced by the next generation of aspirational buyers and acts as a warning to the government should they fail to address the current lack of property available, which is seeing prices once again reach dangerously inflated levels,&#8221; says Russell Quirk, eMoov.co.uk.<\/p>\n<p>However, the eMoov didn\u2019t take the stretched affordability of buyers into account when putting together the recent study.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;With the negative combination of the rising cost of living eating away at modest pay increases, it is hard to see how property prices can keep rising at a fast pace,&#8221; says Miles Shipside, Rightmove director.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;If it becomes impossible to buy, sellers will also take a hit on the price of their home due to a drop in demand.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"7SvMQoHMv3\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/01\/23\/signs-hope-rental-market\/\">Signs of hope in Rental Market<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Signs of hope in Rental Market&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/01\/23\/signs-hope-rental-market\/embed\/#?secret=wSTpdE2yX7#?secret=7SvMQoHMv3\" data-secret=\"7SvMQoHMv3\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>The ones to benefit from the current situation? The rental market and its inhabitants.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/12\/21\/rental-growth-slowed-2016-set-rise-2017\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Renting is here to stay<\/a>, very little will change about this any time soon. More than half of Britain\u2019s renters are already 30 years and older and one third of them have children.
