One of the most significant regeneration projects in the UK on a brownfield site has been announced<\/b>\u00a0this month,<\/b>\u00a0in the push to identify\u00a0<\/b>more\u00a0<\/b>much needed brownfield sites to combat the national housing shortage.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0120 acre\u00a0site in Cambridge Northern Fringe East is currently utilised by Anglian Water as a waste water recycling centre, however plans are underway to relocate this operation.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The site developer, U + 1 is expected to construct in the region of 5,200 new homes and transform the land into a\u00a0mixed use\u00a0development.\u00a0 The intention is to provide a maximum of 1 million square feet of commercial, retail and leisure space.\u00a0 The positive impact of this major regeneration work will be to create more than 7,000 new jobs, attract more business into the area and boost the local economy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Carter Jonas ha<\/b>s been appointed lead planning consultant\u00a0<\/b>on what will be<\/b>\u00a0one of the largest regeneration projects in the UK.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
