Such rapid rises have prompted local governments to roll out austerity measures, including limiting purchases of apartments and increasing mortgage deposits, in order to restrict the growth to more manageable levels.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"ofww0xX6zu\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/01\/05\/buyers-china-hong-kong-continue-investing-uk-property-despite-brexit\/\">Why buyers from China and Hong Kong continue investing in UK Property &#8211; despite Brexit<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Why buyers from China and Hong Kong continue investing in UK Property &#8211; despite Brexit&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/01\/05\/buyers-china-hong-kong-continue-investing-uk-property-despite-brexit\/embed\/#?secret=DXo2JGndaf#?secret=ofww0xX6zu\" data-secret=\"ofww0xX6zu\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>However, research from Savills is warning that second-tier <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/01\/02\/china-dominates-cities-index\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Chinese cities<\/a> may still attract investors before local authorities are able to effectively manage surging prices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome investors may be looking to buy properties at discount prices in some second-tier cities, expecting prices to rise in a very short period of time,\u201d said James Macdonald, director of China research at Savills. \u201cBut the government is equally expected to react quickly this year if they see increasing volumes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Experts are predicting that property price growth will slow in most of China\u2019s well-developed cities in 2017, but they are also forecasting that speculators will be taking the plunge in many of the smaller cities.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome investors will be happy to invest in second-tier cities such as Suzhou, Nanjing or Hangzhou as they know the markets well,\u201d Macdonald continued.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Others may be looking at cities such as Chongqing because they believe there is little risk involved.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/04\/30\/london-in-top-10-for-most-expensive-rental-cities-in-the-world\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">The property sector has been instrumental in the growth of the Chinese economy<\/a> over the past 20 years, contributing heavily to maintaining double-digit growth.
