But is it time to give up on buy-to-let and move on to build-to-rent?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/11\/02\/one-four-property-sales-uk-buy-let-second-home\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">buy-to-let sector<\/a> has been around for a while now, and with most things that have a long life span, they eventually need to make a choice between a path of stagnation or on of reinvention.<\/p>\n<p>If one asked Britain\u2019s tenants and the country\u2019s Government, their answer would be quite clear. Whilst renting used to be a last resort, it\u2019s now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/10\/08\/renting-property-uk-become-first-choice\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">becoming a first choice for many renters<\/a>. The Private Rented Sector give the younger generation the freedom to move around whilst living in a place surrounded by their peers in a beautiful place which in a best case scenario has all shops and maybe even a gym in the building.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"9TsVlTUwKx\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/10\/05\/governments-buy-let-taxes-will-create-rental-supply-crisis-2025\/\">The Government\u2019s buy-to-let taxes will create a rental supply crisis by 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;The Government\u2019s buy-to-let taxes will create a rental supply crisis by 2025&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/10\/05\/governments-buy-let-taxes-will-create-rental-supply-crisis-2025\/embed\/#?secret=B7uc4GjDlz#?secret=9TsVlTUwKx\" data-secret=\"9TsVlTUwKx\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Data recently published by Connells Survey and Valuation revealed that, in the last year, buy-to-let activity has gone down by 13.3%.<\/p>\n<p>This comes at a time when the Government is trying to clamp down on property investors whilst <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/10\/19\/property-rentals-sales-first-time-since-1930s\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">the number of renters is constantly growing<\/a>. For some, this might be one of the biggest paradoxes 2016 has to offer, and there is an abundance to choose from.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whilst some might still hold out hope to make it onto the property ladder, others, mainly those dubbed Generation Y, choose to rent because it works better for their lifestyle.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Buy-to-let was created to serve that older generation, to serve those whose main aim it was to live in a property they can call their own. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/08\/29\/build-rent-overtaking-buy-let\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Build-to-rent<\/a> on the other hand serves the younger generation. It\u2019s built for those valuing a trip to Asia over owning a car or a pay raise over living down the road from Mum and Dad\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Build-to-rent is aimed at Generation Adventure.
