Across the rest of the country, renters won\u2019t do an awful lot better as they may face a predicted increase of 19%.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"zgxKSDr7Ne\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/11\/04\/uk-housing-market-remain-strong-brexit\/\">UK housing market to remain strong through Brexit<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;UK housing market to remain strong through Brexit&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/11\/04\/uk-housing-market-remain-strong-brexit\/embed\/#?secret=uSeHjlnKOn#?secret=zgxKSDr7Ne\" data-secret=\"zgxKSDr7Ne\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Rental growth will &#8211; by far &#8211; oustrip <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/09\/03\/will-house-price-growth-continue-post-brexit\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">house price growth<\/a> due to Brexit uncertainty, the estate agent warned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe rental growth is largely driven by the mismatch between supply and demand,\u201d said Lucian Cook, director of residential research.<\/p>\n<p>JLL, yet another group of estate agents, predicted an increase of 17.6% across the country over the next five years, with London\u2019s rents rising by 19.9% over the same period of time.<\/p>\n<p>Savills explained that, according to their research, the number of mortgaged <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/09\/02\/buy-let-landlords-listen-top-spots\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">buy-to-let landlords<\/a> purchasing new homes is set to drop by a third (to 80,000) before recovering slightly to 90,000 by 2021.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"b1a723JF1i\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/10\/30\/greedy-sellers-keep-property-market-extra-month-especially-london\/\">Greedy sellers keep property on the market for an extra month, especially in London<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Greedy sellers keep property on the market for an extra month, especially in London&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/10\/30\/greedy-sellers-keep-property-market-extra-month-especially-london\/embed\/#?secret=ruHZRYQrVW#?secret=b1a723JF1i\" data-secret=\"b1a723JF1i\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Annually, house prices increased by 8% in August across all of the UK, and by 12.1% in London, data from the Office for National Statistics showed. For 2017, however, Savills predicts a flattening of prices in both the capital and Britain overall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe think sentiment will be affected as there is more of a realisation of what Brexit means for earnings, for the economy and for employment,\u201d Mr Cook said.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst different agencies predict different levels of growth and weigh the influence <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2016\/06\/26\/manchester-meets-brexit-five-property-expert-opinions\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Brexit will have<\/a> on the property market in the coming years, the overall sentiment remains the same; a slowdown of growth and then a slow but sturdy recovery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over the next five years, rents will rise steeply due to the Government\u2019s decision to fight buy-to-let landlords at all costs, estate agencies are forecasting.
